Arras Roclincourt LFQD
Long grass strip, bumpy taxiway. Good restaurant on the airfield, friendly and clearly popular with the locals. Fairly close to the town, but the taxi took a long time to arrive. No problems staying overnight, plenty of space to tie down. There is a microlight school at the airfield
No-one was around when we were there and we weren't asked for a landing or overnight fee. Arras itself is pleasant although undistinguished, having suffered badly during the Great War. There is an interesting museum tour of the underground system used by the soldiers during the war. Plenty of bars and restaurants in and around the two main squares in the centre of town. (LB 2014)
